Installation & License Activation

Install picu Core

  1. In your WordPress Admin go to “Plugins > Add New”
  2. Use the search bar on the top right side and type in “picu” – You should see “picu – WordPress Photo Proofing Gallery” as the first result
  3. Click on “Install Now” – The plugin is now downloaded and installed
  4. Click on “Activate”

Install picu Pro

  1. Download the Pro plugin from your Account page
  2. In your WordPress Admin go to “Plugins > Add New”
  3. Click on “Upload Plugin” (next to the “Add Plugins” headline)
  4. Choose the .zip file you downloaded from our website on your hard drive
  5. Click on “Install Now” – The plugin will be uploaded and installed
  6. Click on “Activate Plugin”

picu Pro License Activation

To activate a license you need to install and activate picu Pro first (see above). You can find your licenses on your account page.

  1. In your WordPress Admin go to “picu > picu Pro”
  2. Enter the license into the license field
  3. Click on “Activate License”

After activation it should look something like this:

Local Host URLs

To receive automatic updates and support, a license needs to be active on that site.

The exception to this involves local installs using something like MAMP, WAMP, Vagrant, Desktop Server or similar local & testing setups. As these are not used as live servers, you can activate your license there without them counting towards your activation limit.

How it works

License activation is tied to the URL of a site. Top level domains (TLDs) and IP addresses that are commonly used for local development servers, are not counted against your license activation limits. These include:

  • localhost
  • 10.0.0.0/8
  • 172.16.0.0/12
  • 192.168.0.0/16
  • *.dev
  • *.local
  • *.test

You can activate your license on any of the above URLs or IP addresses without counting against your activation limit.

If this does not work, you can also set your site to staging using this wp-config entry:

define( 'WP_ENVIRONMENT_TYPE', 'staging' );Code language: JavaScript (javascript)

Please make sure to place this above the line that says:

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */Code language: JSON / JSON with Comments (json)
