Welcome to another quick update post. It’s a short one this month, but we still wanted to share some of the things we’ve been working on.
Payment Providers & Paypal Integration
We launched picu e-commerce in June with support for Stripe to accept payments directly, and with the goal of adding support for more providers soon after. This month, we started working on some improvements behind the scenes and to clean up and modularize the code for these integrations. This will allow us to add new providers easier in the future, with PayPal being the next on the list. Stay tuned!
Translation Update
New releases and functionality often bring new strings with them that need to be translated. We worked hard to import and automate as much of the translations as we can (things like currency or country names), to make life easier for our translators. We are now at above 90% again for 14 of our supported languages, with more in the works.
Thanks again to all our translators, who work hard and do an amazing job keeping those strings up to date with each new release!
Bugfix Updates
We released a few smaller updates for picu as well as picu Pro shortly after 3.0.0 and 2.0.0 were released, fixing some smaller bugs that we didn’t catch during our tests. We suggest you to update to the newest versions available, if you haven’t yet!
Photo Clubs and Professional Associations
We want to support photo clubs and professional associations with a special discount program for their members. Right now, we are finalizing the details for this offer and would like to get as many insights as we can. Are you in a photo club or professional association yourself or know someone who is? Please send them our way or get in touch with us – we’d love to hear from you!
Blogposts & Docs
We are working on new landing pages for picu Pro and updating our documentation around e-commerce, so this month we haven’t released any new blogposts. But that shouldn’t stop us from sharing some of our old stuff should it? As we’re half-way through the year, here are some of our personal favorites from 2025 so far:
- Pricing Guide for Photographers (June 2025)
- AI in Photography (June 2025)
- Local SEO for Photographers (April 2025)
- Online marketing for photographers in 2025 (March 2025)
Next Up in August & September 2025
With summer holidays in our part of the world – and hopefully some warmer temperatures again soon – we will also take some time off during the next few weeks so we expect our development to slow down a little during this time. We’ll be back in full swing in September at the latest.
Until then – keep safe, stay hydrated, hug your loved ones and make the best of this summer!
Kind regards
Claudio & Florian
