First of all: We hope you and your loved ones are healthy during these weirdest of times. Like many other businesses, photographers were hit quite hard by this situation and we hope you are doing fine and were able to keep your business afloat.

While we were in lockdown, juggling to keep our kids entertained and our little agency alive, it was hard to prioritize and keep track of things. But we still managed to find some time to develop picu further – more on that below.

Thank you all for your feedback and support, we appreciate it – especially during these times! Almost all of our recent updates contained improvements we made, thanks to your input. Please keep your emails and ideas coming!

Recap

Last year we introduced some exiting new features (eg. multiple email message templates for Brand & Customize) and released a completely new Pro module called Theft Protection, which enables automatic watermarking and more. We also updated most Pro modules as well as the picu Core plugin to fix small bugs and make them more robust.

We now have photographers in more than 32 countries using picu Pro (which is amazing!), and picu has been translated into more than 10 languages.

2020 Roadmap

First and foremost is our (quite ambitious) goal to develop and release two of the most requested features for picu Pro:

💁‍♂️ Delivery of final images

Many are using our Download module to deliver final images to clients – even though that is not its original intended purpose. So we feel it is time to give you a proper solution! The Delivery module will enable you to deliver final, high-res images to your clients, when the job is done. All from within picu.

Expect the Delivery module to ship this month.

🛍 Selling images

This is long overdue and we have lost count, how many times we have been asked about this. There is still a lot to figure out about the exact hows, but we will build a proper e-commerce integration for picu Pro.

Expect more info on this in the months ahead.

Both of these modules come with a variety of challenges, but we have collected enough feedback over the past months, and we feel confident that we can build something, that will improve your workflow and save you a lot of time when communicating with your clients.

Apart from those two bigger modules, there are some smaller enhancements and features, that are high on our priority list as well:

Expiration dates: Adding an expiration date to collections, including automatic reminders, to make sure you get the feedback you need from your clients on time.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Multi user support and account logins: While there are ways to create a “client page” with all the collections for one client, there is still no true multi-user support. We are planning to bring client logins and multiple user support for collections to picu very soon.

If you want to keep up to date with what we are working on, we recently published our roadmap on our website. It will be updated continuously as we complete development of features and add new ones.

As always, if you have any feedback or questions, do not hesitate to contact us!

Stay healthy!

All the best,
Claudio & Florian

PS: We initially planned to increase the price for picu Pro in the beginning of this year, from $99/yr to $149/yr, but due to the crisis we decided to further extend the discount until the end of July!

If you were thinking about upgrading to Pro, this is the best time to upgrade – all subscriptions bought now, will stay locked in on this price for as long as they are active!
