Hello World

Welcome aboard!

We’re happy you found your way here!

It has been quite some time since we had the initial idea of picu and I want to tell you a little bit about the back story.

Florian and I are both web professionals and have been working with WordPress for many years, designing and developing websites for clients.

About three years ago I was working on a website for a photographer, who told me that he was looking for a client proofing solution that would fit into his workflow. He had been searching for this functionality for almost ten years.

The idea stuck with me, but I couldn’t promise to deliver anything like that, first, because the client had no budget to develop a custom solution, and second, because I didn’t want to build it all by myself.

In 2013 I met Florian at WordCamp Europe and we quickly started working on some client projects together. Soon after I told him about that „client proofing“ idea, we started working on what would finally become picu.

From the get-go our major goal was to make it as easy as possible, even if that meant discarding some features and ideas. Better to make one thing as good as we can, than to try to be everyone’s darling.

And here we are today, launching picu into the world. 🙂

Please be aware that this is a public beta. Things are still a bit rough around the edges, but we already have a handful of photographers actively using it.

We are looking forward to your feedback and to what we can build together.
